I’m a bit floored. I haven’t heard music this good in a long time. For those of you who thought white-girl soul began and ended with Joss Stone, you were wrong. Adele performs tenderly nuanced vocal performances that evokes emotions like no one has for a long time. The press has been comparing her to Eykah Badu and Jill Scott but I’ll go a bit further as she’d be worthy of comparison to the great Etta James.

“Daydreamer” is a soft song, finger plucked on guitar, but Adele makes it much bigger singing it with real emotion and conviction. Definitely an artist to watch out for in 2007.
