Shag (a.k.a Josh Agle) is a painter and designer who resides in Southern California. His work has been featured in solo exhibitions in Japan, the US, Australia and Europe. His work is typically executed in a 2D using acrylics and vinyl, in a style reminiscent of Hanna-Barbera cartoons from the mid-20th century. In fact, many of his pieces look like excerpts cartoons, with characters caught mid-action as if they were stills lifted from some defunct animated series. Many of the themes explored in his work revolve around consumerism and consumption and no doubt reflect his SoCal heritage.
