I’m Jon Gosier, a software developer, writer, and designer working at the intersection of data and global development. I’m the founder Appfrica, a company that invests in the African technology sector, and MetaLayer, a company that makes data analysis easy for anyone. I won the Knight News Challenge in 2013 for Abayima, a project that aims to turn the world's 4 billion feature phones into cheap e-readers.

I was a Fellow and Senior Fellow at TED from 2009 to 2011. Currently, I’m a participant in the THNK Academy for Creative Leadership.
