BIO
Jonathan Gosier (Founder) is an American-born software developer, writer and social entrepreneur. He currently lives in Kampala, Uganda where he is working on two fronts: to encourage western businesses and investors to engage African entrepreneurs and in developing parts of Africa to encourage the adoption of computers, programming and use of the internet. Jon Gosier is also the founder/owner of the startups http://weworkforfree.net (altruism for artists), http://gosdot.com (web development firm), and http://appfrica.org (conferences, social development). He is a huge advocate for promoting the ways in which a semantic web will benefit emerging economies in the world.
He began working with rich media in the late 90’s programming synthesizers and music software as a hobbyist. After attending the Savannah College of Art and Design and pursing further education, he began working with interactive audio and sound design as a consultant in the American music and film industry. Clients during this time included Clear Channel, Turner, Atlantic Records, Warner Brothers, Interscope and others. Shortly thereafter he became the youngest person to hold the title of Director at the public start-up Winsonic Digital Media Group (WDCSN), an internet and telecommunications venture based out of Atlanta, GA. Jon Gos has since gone on to work with multi-media mogul Tyler Perry on projects for Turner and Lionsgate (LGF).
Jon currently blogs professionally for a number of websites including Developertutorials.com and Smashing Magazine.
